A Huge Pill
大顆藥丸
「最近我吃太多豬肉。
再加上，太多蛋跟有的沒有的。」
這傢伙在醫院的候診室跟我聊起來。
「我拼命吃鹽。一天喝二十杯
咖啡。抽煙。
近來老覺得上氣不接下氣。」
然後他垂下眼。
「再加上，吃完飯
有時就把碗筷扔在桌上。忘了收。
站起來就走人。
再見。下回見，桌老。
先生，你看看我到底怎麼回事?」
他跟實習醫師講的症狀跟我如出一轍。
我說，「你以為怎麼回事?
你會越來越不靈光。然後慢慢
死掉。順序倒過來也可以。
甜點呢? 也喜歡吃
肉桂麵包捲跟冰淇淋嗎?」
「再加上，那些我全愛吃得不得了。」他說。
這時我們已經坐在一家“友善餐廳”裡。
看過了菜單繼續聊天。
廚房裡的收音機傳來
晚餐音樂。聽到沒有，那是我們的歌。
我們的餐桌。
再加上，太多蛋跟有的沒有的。」
